Hèh-thëî Fêqê (/ëˈazɘ/ /ˈʃëɪ/ [challenge] [trap]) is a subtropical Town located in the Nëpimtrêsë Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Hèh-thëî Fêqê is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Hèh-thëî Fêqê was founded by Tshîb Tresí, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Hèh-thëî Fêqê has a yearly average temperature of 23°C (73°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 26°C (78°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 21°C (69°F). Hèh-thëî Fêqê receives an average of 241 cm/y (94 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Hèh-thëî Fêqê covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 4418 m (14494 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Hèh-thëî Fêqê was founded durring the late 12th century in summer of the year 1090, by Tshîb Tresí. The establishment of Hèh-thëî Fêqê was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Tshîb Tresí electing to pay people to resettle in Hèh-thëî Fêqê.

Hèh-thëî Fêqê was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Hèh-thëî Fêqê is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Hèh-thëî Fêqê is is constructed arround a series of restrictive paverstone mainstreets which form concentric circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to each other at varrious points. The town has a defencive wall made from querried stone. The wall is equipped with a full set of battlments but the nature of its construction methodology leaves it somewhat vulnerable to siege equipment. That said, the town is well defended against anything short of an army. The cost-cutting-focused defences have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

A look around Hèh-thëî Fêqê gives you an uneasy feeling. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring just long enough for it to be uncomfortable. This all rests atop the unmistakable impression the town is one of the strictest places imaginable. Everyone’s actions are clearly directed by laws they keep in heart and mind at all times. Orderly byond order is a phrase which Hèh-thëî Fêqê brings to mind.

Hèh-thëî Fêqê has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Hèh-thëî Fêqê's natural decorations nor waterways.

Cultural Notes

Hèh-thëî Fêqê's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known for its buildings being predominantly formed through the combination of basic geometric shapes. However, it shown in the detailing given to the structures such as its characteristic tall columns, intricate detail, symmetry, harmony, and balance in their designs to an astonishing degree of precision. Decorative elements for the buildings tended to be built into the structure itself, making great use of fluting, frescoes, inlays, and embossing.

In Hèh-thëî Fêqê sometimes, near one of the seasonal solstices, the sun appears to split into three and it rains from a clear sky for several hours.

The Dlurgraven near Hèh-thëî Fêqê are known to be a mutant strain of the creature.

Hèh-thëî Fêqê's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves creating small tokens to channel Illusion energies of tier 2 via divine sermons.

The roads leading into Hèh-thëî Fêqê possess a great number of switchbacks. While designed for defense, they mostly wind up pissing everyone trying to take goods to town right the hell off.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century the Kami granted the town a great harvest. One of Hèh-thëî Fêqê's local festivals commemorates this miracle.
